The new call

Announced on 26 October 2026, the call opened on 21 October and closes internationally on 3 March 2027. Turkish capital companies can apply with at least one Spanish firm. All thematic fields are eligible. TÜBİTAK 1509 national-stage dates are notified separately; the international form does not complete the process.

Establish the partnership rationale first

TİCİS recommends asking which product the partners can develop better together before asking which support is available. Technology, manufacturing and market capabilities should complement each other. A partnership formed solely for eligibility may leave responsibilities and ownership unclear.

Assess expertise, personnel, references and committed resources. A presentation alone is not proof of technical capability. Where possible, test compatibility through a small technical exercise or verifiable example.

Design the project before filling the form

Our suggested preparation file describes the problem, differentiation, work packages, contributions, testing, budget assumptions and route to market. It complements rather than replaces official forms and helps partners describe the same project.

Do not confuse R&D with a routine sales or distribution agreement. Explain technical uncertainty and measurable success. Verify eligible costs and funding conditions in current programme documents; this article promises neither an award nor a funding rate.

Intellectual property and commercialisation

Separate existing knowledge and rights from project-generated results. Address patents, software access, licensing, confidentiality and partner withdrawal with legal advisers. Do not postpone sales territories and revenue-sharing discussions until development ends.

Support market assumptions with customer discussions and tests. A prototype and recurring sales may require different budgets. Plan resources for certification, production launch and after-sales support.

TİCİS assessment: funding accelerates a sound project

Assess international partners for technical fit and commercial sustainability. Start with a one-page joint project outline and responsibility matrix, then work backwards from the official timetable to allow sufficient technical and financial preparation.
